Advice for visitors

Don’t skip The Deli Coffee CO, if you’re not hungry for a full meal. Their coffee and cakes are among the most talked about in Cape Town. An expertly made cappuccino will accompany any of their decadent baked goods, while their fresh baked breads, nougat and chocolate slabs are worth the splurge. Breakfast is also a highlight, and while the Eggs Benedict is a popular choice, you can also bet on the flapjack stack or the smoked salmon with hash browns.

Did you know

Eggs Benedict was first served in the 1860s at Delmonico’s Restaurant, the first restaurant opened in the US. Legend has it that a regular visitor, Mrs LeGrand Benedict, was unhappy with the lunch menu and demanded that the chef make her something special. The result? Eggs a’la Benedick.
