The Cape Winelands is a collection of historic towns and Dutch farmsteads that are known for producing top South African wines. Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Tulbagh, and Wellington form the backbone of the Cape Winelands, with grape cultivation that dates as far back as the 1600s. Interestingly, the wines do so well in this area as a result of the unique mountain soils. However, the influence of nearby oceans means offshore winds prevail in summer. As they say, “a vineyard that can see the sea, is a good vineyard.”

This is a phrase used to describe any activity that removes more carbon from the atmosphere than the average person is responsible for making. The business aims to absorb all of the environment’s beauty without releasing harmful pollutants. This is achieved through the use of public transport and bicycles, as well as other recycling initiatives. Bikes ‘n Wines also actively takes part in CO2 removal by donating a tree for every 10 riders on tour through their partnership with local sustainability initiative, Green Pop.
