History

Established in 1992, The Greek Fisherman was one of the original restaurants in the V&A Waterfront when it was first opened, and is still operated by the same owners. While the restaurant holds fast to Greek tradition, the newly renovated space and modern twist on the food keeps up with the ever-changing food trends. Since its inception, The Greek Fisherman has adopted the moto, “Food is family, family is life, life is everything”, and it continues to operate under this mantra today.

Greek Fisherman

Advice for visitors

The Greek Fisherman is famous for its Greek meze starters and tapas. Choose from over 20 meze to get an all-round flavour of the cuisine. Alternatively, go big with the stunning lamb dishes. Don’t be shy to test the sommelier’s wine-food pairing knowledge.

The restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner date on the water, a Sunday lunch for large families or even a quick, tapas-style bite after shopping. The best time to go is during a summer evening so you can catch the sun setting over the water. Sip on your drink of choice on the outside deck and watch as Cape Town’s sunset puts on a show.
