Attractions and Venues

Can I return to the same attraction using my City Pass card?

No. The City Pass card is designed to show you around the city and see as much as you can, different attractions and experiences.

Are the attractions or venues open at all times?

Many of our attractions or venues change their operating hours each day and throughout the course of the year. We recommend contacting them directly to confirm their opening times or visiting their websites to confirm details.

Do the City Pass packages include all attractions in a city or region?

The City Pass packages offer entry to a large range of the best attractions and venues available in a city or region. The range for each location varies by package and our range is growing all the time. Up to date information about the attractions in each package can be viewed in the included Attractions tab located in each package page.

Do I need to show ID needed at the attraction or venue?

No, unless specified otherwise in the T’s and C’s of this attraction in our guide. Your City Pass card is all you need to gain access to most attractions or venues. You will be asked to sign the back of your card before you start to use it. Once you reach your chosen attractions or venues, simply present your card at the admission point.

CityPass packages

What is the difference between an Unlimited Pass and a Flexi Pass?

Both Packages offer great savings and convenience.  The main difference is that the Unlimited Pass allows you to see more with access to over 40 included attractions in Cape Town and things to do over a set number of consecutive days.  This option is great if you are visiting a city and you want to see it all, without breaking the budget and miss out on anything.  It offers exceptional savings and the convenience of not having to pay anything else.

The Flexi Pass provides you with flexibility to choose the  attractions that you wish to see from our top most visited attractions and experiences with the ability to see them in one day or over 3 months! It’s totally up to you.  This package is great for locals and  for those that might not be able to commit to consecutive days.

Does the City Pass need to be signed?

Yes. All cardholders need to sign the City Pass card – both adults and children. For security purposes we recommend that you sign the card as soon as you receive it. Please note that once signed, no refund or exchange can be made.

What time does the Unlimited Attractions Pass package run out?

Your Unlimited Attractions Pass package is valid for calendar days, not for 24-hour periods. It will run out on the final day of the duration you purchased. If you purchase a two-day card and start to use if on a Wednesday, it will be valid for Wednesday and Thursday. If you don’t use the package, unused benefits will expire 12 months from date of card issuance.

Do I have to use my City Pass in consecutive days?

This only applies to our Unlimited Attraction Pass. All unlimited Attraction Pass packages are based on the number of day’s duration you purchased. If you purchase a 3-day package and you start to use it on a Tuesday, it will be valid for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of that week.

How long is the City Pass package valid for?

We aim to provide packages, which provide you with the most flexibility, and all of our packages expire either 3 month or 12-months from date of card issuance, based on the package type purchased. Each package has different expiry periods and you should carefully review this at time of purchase.

Do you have a family City Pass package?

No. There are currently no family packages available and each member of your party will require their own package. However the savings are substantial for family groups too.

Is there a City Pass package for children?

Yes, there is a large range of exciting attractions, which kids will love. Our range of attractions packages is available for children aged between 4 and 15.  Children who are 16 or older will need an Adult package. Children under 3 are subject to fees payable to individual attractions.

Does the City Pass package come with a guide?

Yes. Every City Pass package comes with an easy-reference, colour guide with a map which provides details on participating operators including address, contact details and special offers. Operator details do change from time to time, so it is recommended that you view our online list of attractions and operator websites for the most up-to-date information.

What are the benefits of a City Pass package?

With your City Pass package you will receive amazing savings and value whether travelling alone or with your family and friends. Every package offers free admission to large range of attractions and experiences and the convenience of having it combined on one prepaid smartcard.

What is a City Pass package?

Each City Pass card package includes a range of attractions, experiences and popular things to do all on a single smartcard. Each City Pass card is loaded with one package which includes entry to a selection of individual experiences such as cruises, tours or attractions. Your choice of experiences varies depending on which package you choose.

Each package provides you with complete flexibility to create your own itinerary and convenience to see the things you want to see when you want. Each package comes packed with a guide to all participating attractions so all you need to do is show your card and have all the fun!

How to buy a CityPass

Where can I purchase an my City Pass?

You can purchase your City Pass card in advance on citypass. You can also buy it from any retail stores of City Sightseeing in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Can I purchase a City Pass prior to arrival?

Yes and we recommend it. SA City Pass packages can be purchased at citypass or by calling XXXXXX within SouthAfrica, calling +27 XXXXXX if overseas or through your local travel agent.  Our customer service center is open 7 days a week from 9am to 8.30pm. (closed Christmas day)

Can I buy a City Pass as a gift?

Yes! City Pass packages are an excellent gift for, kids, friends and relatives. When they start using their City Pass cards, they can simply sign the reverse. A card is activated at the first time it is used.

Planning my trip

Are there any special conditions for the attractions or other venues?

Sometimes special conditions will apply. These may include height restrictions, opening restrictions or holiday supplements to be paid to the operator. Where special conditions apply, they have been noted with the attraction listing in your City Pass guide.

Can I book in advance for any tours?

Some of the attractions and experiences do need to be booked in advance. Phone numbers and booking procedures can be found in your City Pass guide.

Do I have to pre-book for any tours and attractions?

No, unless specified otherwise on the description of the tour or attraction in our guide. However due to limited availability on selected tours and experiences, we do recommend that you call ahead to reserve your place and we have noted this on these attraction in your easy-reference guide that accompanies your City Pass package and also on each attraction listing online.

Transport options

Is a transport option included on City Pass package available in Cape Town?

You can easily get to most attractions in Cape Town and Johannesburg by using the City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off buses, included in your City Pass.

How do I get to Table Mountain?

The City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off Bus takes you from Cape Town to the Table Mountain Cable Car every 20 minutes.
