Afrogem Jewellers are a family run and operated jewellery manufacturer based in the heart of Cape Town. We offer a uniquely South African shopping experience by including an exclusive behind-the-scenes fabrication tour of our 500 sqm working factory. We have a wide range of loose gemstones, jewellery and hand-made African souvenirs.
Each visitor will receive a free gemstone gift.

Afrogem was established in 1966 and has 57 years’ experience in the jewellery industry. Afrogem pioneered a complimentary behind-the-scenes manufacturing tour. The fabrication tour was created to give jewellery enthusiasts and buyers the opportunity to observe skilled professionals at work.

The two story factory was designed with the historical Bo-Kaap in mind and reflects the homes that made the area famous.

DID YOU KNOW

The first documented use of the Afrogem building site was for coach houses. Travelers would rest their horses at these houses while on the road from the harbour to table mountain.
The two stone horses guarding Afrogem’s entrance were salvaged during the construction of the premises to aid in conserving the sites history.
