Attractions and Venues

Mobile Vouchers Accepted

You may present your City Pass Barcode on your mobile phone to gain entry into attractions. 

Upon purchasing a City Pass, you will receive a confirmation email which also contains a unique barcode for each pass purchased.

All of our attractions are equipped with a barcode reader which will scan your barcode and grant you access into the attraction. 

Can I return to the same attraction using my City Pass?

No. The City Pass package is designed to show you around the city and see as much as you can, different attractions and experiences.

Are the attractions or venues open at all times?

No, opening times vary from attraction to attraction. We endeavour to keep our website and guidebook up to date. You can find more information about an attraction by visiting their attraction page on our website. We recommend contacting them directly to confirm their opening times or visiting their website to confirm details. 

Do the City Pass packages include all attractions in a city or region?

All the passes include all the attractions however the Premium pass includes 1 additional premium experience which is exclusive to the Premium Pass.

Do I need to show ID needed at the attraction or venue?

No. Your City Pass is all you need to gain access to attractions. Once you reach your chosen attractions, simply present your Pass (barcode) at the admission point.

City Pass packages

What time does the City Pass package run out?

Your Unlimited Pass package is valid for calendar days, not for 24-hour periods. It will run out on the final day of the duration of the pass you purchased. For example, if you purchase a two-day pass and start to use it on a Wednesday, it will be valid for Wednesday and Thursday. Your pass is activated from the first scan.

Do I have to use my City Pass in consecutive days?

All Pass packages are based on the number of day’s duration you purchased. If you purchase a 3-day package and you start to use it on a Tuesday, it will be valid for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of that week.

How long is the City Pass package valid for?

We aim to provide packages that provide you with the most flexibility. All of our packages expire 6 months from date of purchase.

Does the City Pass need to be signed?

No. We recommend that you either take a screenshot or a clear photo of the barcode as soon as you receive your pass so should you lose it, the barcode can still be scanned from your phone.

Note: only if a clear photo/screenshot is taken.

Do you have a family City Pass package?

No. There are currently no family packages available and each member of your party will require their own package. However, the savings are substantial for family groups too. We do have reduced rates for kids. Kids under 4yrs travel for free. Children rates apply for 4 to 17-year-olds.

Is there a City Pass package for children?

Yes, there is a large range of exciting attractions, which kids will love. Our range of attractions packages is available for children aged between 4 and 17. Children who are 18 or older will need an Adult package. Children under 3 are subject to fees payable to individual attractions.

Does the City Pass package come with a guide?

Yes. Every City Pass package comes with an easy-reference, colour guide which provides details on participating attractions including address, contact details and special offers. Attraction details do change from time to time, so it is recommended that you view their websites for the most up-to-date information.

What is a City Pass package?

Each City Pass includes a range of attractions, experiences and popular things to do – all on a single pass. Each City Pass is loaded with a package which includes entry to a selection of individual experiences such as cruises, tours or attractions. Simply choose between a 2, 3 or 5-Day pass and if you wish, add a premium experience. A comparison of the different iVenture City Pass packages is available here.

Each package provides you with complete flexibility to create your own itinerary and convenience to see the things you want to see when you want. Each package comes packed with a guide to all participating attractions so all you need to do is show your Pass and have all the fun!

Buying a City Pass

Where can I purchase my City Pass?

Online: You can purchase your City Pass in advance here.

In-destination: You can also buy it from any of our official ticket offices.

Can I purchase a City Pass prior to arrival?

Yes, and we recommend it! City Pass packages can be purchased here. After purchasing a pass it will be emailed to you which will contain the barcode required to present and scan at the attractions you visit. 

My Payment has Failed

Has your payment been failing when trying to purchase a City Pass?

The issue may lie with your bank’s online transactional security. VISA and Mastercards have security measures in place to protect you when online shopping. if you are unaware of this security, you should read the following documentation to assist in purchasing goods online:

Planning my trip

Are there any special conditions for the attractions or other venues?

Sometimes special conditions will apply. These may include height restrictions, opening restrictions or holiday supplements to be paid to the operator. Where special conditions apply, they have been noted with the attraction listing in your City Pass guide. Browse our Cape Town Attractions for more information. 

Can I book in advance for any tours?

Some of the attractions and experiences in Cape Town and surrounds do need to be booked in advance. Contact details of the attractions can be found in the City Pass Guide or under the Attractions section of this website or on the website of the respective attraction.

Do I have to pre-book for any tours and attractions?

No, unless specified otherwise on the description of the tour or attraction in our guide. However, due to limited availability on selected tours and experiences, we do recommend that you call ahead to reserve your place. We have made note of this on the attractions in your easy-reference guide that accompanies your City Pass package and also on each attraction listing online.

Terms & Conditions of each attraction may change from time to time so we recommend checking directly with the attraction for booking requirements & procedures.

Transport options

Is a transport option included on City Pass package available in Cape Town?

You can easily get to most attractions in Cape Town by using the City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off buses, included for FREE with any City Pass package. The Hop on Hop off Bus ticket is valid for the duration of your pass. Certain attractions will need private/public transport such as the MyCiTi Bus or taxi.

How do I get to Table Mountain?

The City Sightseeing Hop-On Hop-Off Bus takes you from Cape Town to the Table Mountain Aerial Cable Way every 20 minutes.

The bus route you would like to take is the City Tour to Table Mountain which starts at the V&A Waterfront on Dock Road.
